About 'Henry Home', ‘Pepe’, and ‘Arapati’:

This site has always been known as Arapati’s Beach Bach even before we built.  ‘Arapati’ is the Cook Islands Maori name for Albert.  The site we have built upon was the original homestead of the Cook Islands first Premier, Sir Albert Henry. (More affectionately known as Papa Arapati).    In 1965 the Cook Islands became self governing lead by Sir Albert Henry as the first premier until 1978.  Stuart Henry is a grandson of Sir Albert Henry.

‘Pepe’ was the more fondly used name for Lady Elizabeth Henry.  Translated, it means “babe” or “baby”.
The ‘Henry Home’ is a new family home built upon the original homestead and “Think Room” of our nation’s
first premier.
